Filho bom à casa torna, VOLTEI VOLTEI, VOLTEI DE LÁ =) / Good child returns home, I’m back, back, back from there =)

Ora viva minha gente =)

Pois bem, como diz o velho ditado português: “Filho bom à casa torna”, após 13 semanas fora de casa, passadas entre a neve e o frio, a quase 4000 km de casa, numa cidadezinha finlandesa chamada Joensuu, como boa filha que sou, ontem VOLTEI VOLTEI, VOLTEI DE LÁ =)

Após 90 dias fora de território português, ontem às 16.45 (hora finlandesa) deixei Helsínquia com 5 graus, e por volta das 19.45 (hora portuguesa) após 5 horas e tal de viagem, já estava a pisar solo português e estavam 25 graus, 1 calor de morte =)

Correu tudo muito bem, este tempo maravilhoso acabou, pena não ter sido 1 ano, mas apesar de ter sabido a pouco, foi melhor que nada =)

Por um lado já estava a precisar de vir a Portugal, já tinha saudades da minha gente, dos ares de Portugal e da nossa comidinha portuguesa e de comprimentar as pessoas com beijinhos, diga-se de passagem =)

Ontem para o meu jantar de recepção pedi À mamã para fazer caldo verde, há já quase 4 meses que não comia caldo verde =)

Hoje fui à faculdade matar saudades, foi bom ver alguns colegas, professores, funcionários e amigos, estavam 35 graus =) eu já não sabia o que era isso, sentir essa temperatura, que caloor, ver flores e árvores com folhas verdinhas, não cobertas pela neve, SOL, ahh por um lado tinha saudades sim senhora =)

Agora… o sonho acabou, foi bom, muito bom, em termos pessoais e académicos, ficaram lá muitos amigos, mas… estou de volta à realidade =(, =l, =).

Aguardam-me 14 semaninhas de desafio, de aprendizagem, prática e trabalho (muito???) árduo.

Acredito que vão ser de enriquecimento académico e pessoal também, as próximas 5 vão ser passadas no Outão, quer isto dizer que só vim fazer 1 visitinha a casa para ver a famelga e a chinchila que continua cada vez mais reguilota.

Para os meus amigos que conheci na Finlândia, vai uma mensagem em inglês com tradução para finlandês (como o terapeuta António Lopes sugeriu 1 vez).

Também tenho mais fotos que vou tentar publicar, e fazer um vídeo, (agora não sei quando é que vou ter tempo para isso, mas vou tentar publica-las, mesmo que seja no Verão, hei de pô-las), mas hoje deixo aqui:

- A música “voltei voltei” neste caso, não de França mas da Finlândia;

- e umas fotos da minha ultima loucura feita em Joensuu – Ice Hole swimming – dedicadas a todos vós, mas em especial ao menino Vilaça e ao terapeuta António Alves Lopes, para verem que consegui ser corajosa o suficiente para nadar num buraco de gelo com -6ºC de temperatura ambiente num dia lindo =) mas escusado será dizer que me ia dando 1 coisinha… mas não deu =)

Hi my dearest friends =)

So, as the very old portuguese sentence says: “good child returns home”, after 13 weeks out of home, passed among the snow and coldness, almost 4000 km from home, in a little finnish town named Joensuu, as a good dougther that I am back, back, back from there (a Portuguese music ;) )

After 90 days out of Portuguese territory, yesterday at 16.45 (finnish hour) I left Helsinki with 5 degrees, and around 19.45 (Portuguese hour) after more than 5 hours of trip, I was already with my feet at Portuguese groud, it was 25 degrees, hot too much hot =)

Everything went ok, this marvilous time already finished, I’m sorry that it was not 1 year, but besides it was few time, it was better than nothing =)

In one hand, I were feling the need to come to Portugal, I already missed my people, portuguese air and our deliciouse Portuguese food, to great people with kisses =)

Yesturday for my arrival dinner, i asked momy to make “Caldo Verde – a traditional Portuguese soap”, for almost 4 months that I haven’t eaten calso verde =)

Today i went to my university, it was great to see my classmates, teachers and friends, the weather was great, 35 degrees =) i had already forgoten what was that, to feeel this temperature, it was so hot, se flowers and trees with green leaves, and not covert with snow, SUN, ahh on one hand I missed all these =)

Now… this dream hás already ended, it was good, very good, in personal and academic terms, i left there lots of friends, but… I’m back to reality =(, =l, =).

There are 14 weeks full of (lots???) of chalenge, learning, practice, work, that are waiting for me.

I belief that they will be full of academic and personal enrichement, the next 5 weeks will be passed at Outão, it means that I just came to visit my family and my chinchilla that is more and more naughty.

For my dear friends that I’ve met in Finland, goes a message in English, but also in Finnish (as my teacher Antonio Lopes suggest me once).

I have more photos that i would like to show, and make a nice video, (now I don’t know when I’ll have time for that, but I’ll try to publish them, even in Summer, but I’ll publish them), but today I’ll leave:

- the music (in Portuguese) “I’m back, I’m back”, in this case not from France, but from Finland;

- and some photos from my last crazy thing in Joensuu - Ice Hole swimming – that I dedicate to all of you, but specially to Vilaça and to my teacher Antonio Lopes, so that you can see how brave I could be to swim in the ice hole with the temperature -6ºC on a lovely day =) but I were afraid that something bad could happen, but it didn’t =)

Infelizmente já acabei o meu periodo de ERASMUS, cheguei ontem a Helsínquia e vou cá ficar até 5ªfeira. Dia 3 de Abril vou pisar território português, mas só vou passar 2 dias em casa =(, depois espera-me "uma aventura no Hospital Ortopédico de Santiago do Outão", em Sesimbra, onde irei focar 5 semanas a fazer o meu estágio de Músculo-Esquelética wohooo, quer isto dizer que chego finalmente a Lisboa dia 10 de Maio.

A semana passada foi muito corrida, tive muitos assuntos para tratar, e não consegui por aqui nada, tenho uns videozinhos preprados para colocar aqui, podem cuscar no youtube, é procurar por "arquetipolidia", mas hoje não vou por vídeos.

Hoje a minha mãezinha faz anos, e à semelhança do ano passado, não pude passar o dia com ela. No ano passado estava em Braga, nas jornadas de Fisioterapia, este ano estou na Finlândia, mas não me esqueci, e como tal segue uma fotografia - postal a dizer "Feliz Aniversário Mãe" em Finlandês.

Unfortunatelly I already finished my ERASMUS programme, yesturday I arrived at Helsinki, and i will stay here until Thursday. On the 3rd of April I'll be already in Portugal, but I'll just be 2 days at home =(, there is an "adventure in Santiago do Outão's Orthopedic Hospital" waiting for me in Sesimbra, where I'll make my clinical practice in Musculoskeletal area during 5 weeks wohooo. So I'm just coming home (Lisbon) on the 10th of May.

Last week I were very bussy and with so many things to do that I didn't find any time to come here and post some items. I have already some videos to post, you can have a look in youtube, if you search for "arquetipolidia", but today i'm not going to post any video.

Today is my mommy's birthday, and like last year I didn't spend this day with her. last year I were in Braga, at one Physiotehrapy congress, this year in Finland, but I didn't forgot, so here goes a photo - card saying "Happy Birthday Mom" in Finnish.

Ora viva pessoal =)

Espero que se encontrem todos bem, para variar, felizmente vai tudo bem por estas terras Finlandesas.

A semana passada na guerra entre graus negativos e positivos, venceram os positivos e a neve começou a derreter aos poucos. O chão esteve impossível para se deambular, e apesar do sol teimar em manter-se escondido por trás das nuvens e nem sequer dar um sorriso, pensamos que a primavera se estava a começar a afirmar. De repente, quinta-feira à noite deu-se mais uma tempestade de neve.

Num destes dias de tempestade de neve, estava em casa sem “nada para fazer”, a minha amiga Taina (finlandesa) convidou-me para passar o dia com ela.

Eis senão quando, o sol sorriu para nós e passamos 1 dia memorável. Fomos ao jardim botânico, passeamos pelo lago (coberto de gelo) e fomos comer.

Hello guys =)

I hope you are all ok, hopefully everything is all right here in Finland.

Last week, in the battle between negative and positive degrees, the positive won and the snow started to melt slowly. The floor was impossible to move, and in spite of the sun being stubborn of keeping himself hiding behind the clouds and at least even he didn’t want to give us a smile, we thought that the spring was starting to affirm herself. Suddenly, on Thursday night we had another snow storm.

On one of these days of snow storms, I was at home “without anything to do”, my friend Taina (finnish), invited me to pass the day with her.

Suddenly the sun smiled for us and we passed a memorable day. We went to botania garden, walked on the lake (full of ice) and we eat.

Espero que estejam bem, por cá vai tudo bem, felizmente.

Nestas terras a neve já começa a derreter, e o solo que pisamos parece estar regado a óleo de fritar batatas com cascas de bananas, pelo que é um desafio andar na rua, mas “ce la vie”.

Já não era sem tempo, deixo-vos as fotos do nosso 4º Jantarinho Português, espero que gostem.

Here in Finland the snow just start to melt, and the floor that we walk looks like it has been irrigate with oil to fry potatoes and bananas skin, so walking on the street is a chalange, but “ce la vie” – its life.

As I promised you, I’ll live here the photos from our forth Portuguese dinner, I hope you enjoy them.

I need to prepare some things for tomorrow, because I invite my finnish friends to have dinner with me, and they will come to taste a little bit of the “best food of the world”, and because I arrive late at home from the clinical practice, some things need to be already prepared.

Laskian Sunnantai: Domingo da Quaresma/ Lent’s Sunday

Tal como prometi no post anterior, vou começar a publicar os meus vídeos relativos às actividades que desenvolvi durante o meu “tempo livre” no mês de Fevereiro.

A primeira de todas foi deslizar num montezinho cheio de neve.

Na Finlândia há uma tradição em que 7 domingos antes do domingo de Páscoa as pessoas costumam ir com os amigos deslizar para um monte durante toda a tarde e no fim vão comer sopa de ervilhas.

Neste domingo foi o aniversario da minha amiga Satu =)

Não querendo quebrar a tradição passamos a tarde a deslizar com os “pulkkas” – uns plásticos que tornam mais interessante esta actividade, só não comemos foi a sopa.

As I promissed in my last post, I’ll start to publish the vídeos related to the activities that I joined in my “free time” during February’s month.

The first was sliding down one hill, full of snow.

In Finland there is one tradition where people use to go with their friends to slide down the hill 7 Sundays before Easter during all afternoon, and eat pee soup at the evening.

This Sunday was my friend Satu’s birthday =)

Because there is this tradition we went to slide all afternoon with the “pulkkas” – the plastics thet make this activity some how more interesting. We didn’t eat the soup.

Olá pessoal =)

Espero que se encontrem bem =)

Peço desculpa por quase 1 mês de ausência, mas não tenho tido mesmo tempo para vir actualizar o blog. O trabalho, o frio e a neve contribuem para que isto aconteça…

Vou tentar pôr-vos a par do que tenho feito, mas como calculam, tem de ser por partes:

1º Fisioterapia
2º Diversão

Quanto à Fisioterapia, estive estas 3 ultimas semanas a estagiar no Hospital Central da Carélia do Norte. Passei pelos departamentos todos em que a fisioterapia actua. Foi uma excelente oportunidade para ficar a conhecer o funcionamento da fisioterapia no Hospital. Os terapeutas foram muito simpáticos, pena alguns não falarem inglês.

Como andei “a saltar de departamento em departamento”, não tive oportunidade de ter os “meus próprios doentes”, mas ainda deu para fazer umas coisinhas, incluindo uma apresentação sobre a Fisioterapia e o Sistema Nacional de Saúde Português.

Depois faço 1 filme com fotos p vcs verem…

Quanto à paródia =) tem que ser dividida em capítulos também =)

E o tempo passa depressa… faz hoje 8 semanas que cá cheguei, e já só tenho mais um mês aqui =( por mim ficava 1 ano no mínimo.

Daqui a menos de 5 semanas já estou em solo português e acabam-se os jantarinhos e almocinhos =(

Mas “como só se vive uma vez”, ainda tenho mais um mês, com mais alguns jantares e almoços de despedida…

Antes de ir embora e a pedido de muitas famílias (em especial do terapeuta António Alves Lopes) aqui vai 1 mapazinho p vocês verem onde estou, e PORTANTO CONCRECTAMENTE QUI ÇA darem cá um saltinho para fazer uma visita.

I hope you are ok, and every thing is going well =)

I apologise about the fact that i was almost 1 month without saying anything, but I didn’t had time. All the work, the coldness and the snow gave also their contribution for that.

So I’ll try to up load you about the things that i’ve done, but as you can imagine, it needs to be by parts:

1st Physiotherapy
2nd Diversion

Related with physiotherapy, I’ve been these last three weeks doing my clnical practice at North Karelia Central Hospital. I’ve been in all departments where physiotherapy acts. It was a great opportunity to get into knowing how the physiotherapy work is in the Hospital. The physiotherapist’s where very kind and nice, but it was a pity that some of them didn’t speak English.

Because I were in all departments, I didn’t have “my own patients”, but it was still able to some things, including a presentation about Physiotherapy and the Portuguese’s National Health System.

After all i will makea vídeo with photos so you can have a look…

Related to diversion =) I need also to divide them in chapters=)

And time runs… today makes 8 weeks that I arrive to Finland, and i just have one more month here =( i would like to stay at least 1 year.

In less than 5 weeks I’ll be already in Portugal and then the lunches and dinners will stop =(

But, “because we just live once”, I still have one more month with some more dinners and lunches…

Comunidade estudantil Portuguesa da cidade de Joensuu / Portuguese student comunity of Joensuu’s city

Foram duas semanas muito trabalhosas, mas no meio de tanto trabalho também consegui tirar algum tempo para me divertir.

Ao longo deste tempo tenho conhecido muita gente, fiquem a saber que aqui também já há uma comunidade estudantil portuguesa em Joensuu.

Conheci a Rita Grilo que vive no meu prédio, e que já cá está desde o semestre passado. Desde que eu pus o meu nome na porta de minha casa (para que o carteiro pusesse as cartas que vêm para mim) começou a vir cá bater à porta mas uma das minhas colegas de casa achava que ela era da Bulgária, então quando chegava a casa “mais morta que viva” recebia o recadinho. Um dia decidi ir a casa da “rapariga da Bulgária” e afinal descobri que a “rosa dos ventos” da minha colega de casa estava um pouco trocada pois a pequena é mesmo Portuguesa =).

Nesse fim de semana conheci mais duas portuguesas que no ano passado estiveram aqui a fazer ERASMUS mas agora estão cá a trabalhar, são assistentes sociais, a Susana e a Daniela.

Na semana seguinte fizemos um Jantarinho Português e conhecemos o Bruno, que já cá está também desde o semestre passado e estuda psicologia.

O nosso jantarinho foi maravilhoso, confesso que apesar de cá estar apenas há um mês a coisa que mais tenho saudades é da nossa comidinha que é tão saborosa…

A ementa:
Sopa: de espinafres
Prato: Rancho
Sobremesa: Salada de frutas, Bolo de chocolate

Consolamo-nos todos a comer esta paparoca bem saudável e saborosa =)
Falamos português (portoCHESE como se diz por cá…), e mais, cumprimentamo-nos com 2 beijinhos, coisas que aqui não se faz, é 1 aperto de mão e e… tínhamos lá amigos estrangeiros e esses também entraram na onda das beijocas =)

E já marcamos o próximo jantar, será daqui a uns dias, e vai ser a recepção a mais duas portuguesas que vem para cá fazer ERASMUS. A nossa comunidade está a crescer =)

It were two weeks full of work, but between so many work I could manage to take some time to have fun.

During this time i’ve been meting lots of people, there is a portuguese student comunity here in Joensuu.

I’ve met Rita Grilo who lives in my flat, and is here since last semester. Since I’ve put my name in my house’s door (so that the postman can leave there my post) Rita started to knock my house’s door,but one of my flat mate thout that she was Bulgarian, and when I arrived home “more dead than alive” she used to say me that a Bulgarian girl would like to meet me. One day I decided to meet this Bulgarian girl, and I “discover” that she is Portuguese =) .

On that weekend I’ve met two more Portuguese girls that last year were here doing their ERASMUS programme but now they are working, they are social assistants, Susana and Daniela.

The following week we made a Portuguese dinner and we meet Bruno, that is also here since last semester and studies scicology.

Our dinner was wonderful, I confess that in spite of just being here about one month the thing that I’ve miss much is our food that is so tasty…

Menu:
Soup: spinach soup
Main plate: Rancho – (many kinds of meet with pasta)
Desert: fruit salad, chocolate cake

We were so happy eating that healty and deliciouse food =)

We spoke Portuguese (porto CHESE how they use to say here…), and more, we great each other with 2 kisses, a thing that is very stange here, here is just a hand greating and and… we had there foreigners friends and they also great us with 2 kisses =)

And we already date our next Portuguese dinner, in some days, it will be a reception to two more portuguese girls that are coming here to make their ERASMUS programme as well. Our community is growing =)

Estas duas ultimas semanas =) / These last two weeks =)

Olá pessoal =)

Tem sido difícil conseguir um tempinho para vir à net e deixar um pouco das experiências vividas ao longo destas duas ultimas semanas. Pelo que vou dividi-las por temas. Neste post vou deixar as experiências relacionadas directamente com a fisioterapia. Nos próximos vão ficar a saber que mais tenho andado a fazer.

Então a segunda semana de estágio foi passada metade no Centro de Saúde de Silainen a outra metade no Centro de Saúde de Rantakylä. Esta semana foi melhor que a outra, sem duvida. Logo na 2ª feira o terapeuta perguntou se queríamos tratar alguns dos seus utentes e claro que aceitamos. Então 2ª e 3ª deu para por um bocadinho de nada a “mão na massa”. Embora claro há sempre a barreira da língua que limita muito a nossa intervenção, mas foi melhor que nada =) .

4ª feira começamos no Centro de Saúde de Rantakylä =) este centro de saúde funciona como policlínica, então tudo é diferente, os casos clínicos e o estadio em que os utentes se encontram… as terapeutas foram fabulosas, mesmo. Para começar falam inglês perfeitamente e estavam a fazer perguntas, ali não dava para descansar (também não fui para lá com esse objectivo =P ). Mas estavam sempre a perguntar tudo, o que foi uma excelente oportunidade de aprendizagem.

Desde 4ª feira da segunda semana até ao final da terceira ficamos por Rantakylä, ainda elaboramos umas folhas de exercícios para alguns utentes, fizemos um plano de intervenção, participamos de algumas avaliações de utentes e aqui podemos “pôr a mão na massa” bem mais à vontade.

Os casos eram sobretudo sequelas de AVC’s, próteses de joelho e problemas de ombro.

Alguns utentes tinham direito a quase uma hora e estavam sozinhos, outros vinham em grupo, e aí as vezes era preciso ensinar-lhes exercícios, no ultimo dia organizei o aquecimento antes de começarmos =)

Ainda fiz uma visita a um domicílio com a terapeuta para avaliar as condições da casa de uma utente e a respectiva necessidade de ajudas técnicas.

Na 4ª feira da 3ª semana, esteve lá uma terapeuta especialista em pediatria, e então deu para ver 2 casos, foi muito bom pois em 20 minutos ela fez um “zapping” de TFI Crianças que demos ano passado, o que foi excelente rever =)

6ª feira fomos assistir a 2 aulas do 2º ano, a primeira de “desportos para a saúde com bastões” foi muito giro, mas saí quase morta da aula… a segunda de alongamentos.

Pois é, amanhã faz um mês que aqui cheguei, o tempo passa num instante e estou mesmo a gostar imenso de cá estar. Tenho aprendido muito mesmo, tem dado para rever algumas matérias.

Hi people =)

It has been dificult to find some time to come to the Internet and leave a little bit of the experiences that I’ve lived through these 2 weeks. So I’ll divide them in themes. In this post I’ll leave the experiences related directly with physiotherapy. On the next you can know what else I have been doing.

So the second week of clinical practice was passed half in Siilainen’s Health Care Centre and the other half in Rantakylä’s Helth Care Centre. This week was better than the other. On Monday the physiotherapist asked us if we would like to treat some of his patients and we accept of course =) . So on Monday and Tuesday we could put a little bit “the hands on the paste”. Although exists the barrier of the language that limitates our intervention, but it was better than nothing =) .

On Wednesday we started our clinical practice in Rantakylä’s Health Care Centre =) this health care centre works as a policlinic. So everything is different, the clinical cases and the stage of evolution of the patients as well… the physiotherapists were fabulous, really. They speak English very well and were always making questions, so there it was impossible to have a rest (but that was not my purpouse =P ). But they were always asking everything, and it was an excellent opportunity to learn.

Since Wednesday of the second week until the end of the third week we stayed in Rantakylä, we made some exercise sheets for some patients, an intervention plan, we joined in some assessments of some patients and here we could “put the hand on the paste” much more confortable.

The clinical cases were mostly stroke sequels, knee prosthesis and shoulder problems.

Some of the patients had near one hour and were alone, others come and join groups, and there sometimes it was necessary to teach them some exercises, on the last day I organized the worm up before starting =)

I made a home visit with the physiotherapist t evaluate the home conditions of a patient as well as the need of any technical aid.

On Wednesday of the third week there was a physiotherapist that is specialised in paediatrician, and it was possible to see 2 clinical cases, it was very good because in 20 minutes she made a “zapping” of some children techniques that we learned last year, it was excellent to review =)

On Friday we assist 2 lessons of the second year, first “sports for health with sticks”, it was very interesting and funny, but after this lesson I was nearly died… the second was about stretching.

And tomorrow makes a month that I arrived here, the time flies and I’m realy enjoing this time here. I’ve learned lots of things, and review some school subjects.

1ª semana de estágio / 1st week of clinical practice

Neste post vou falar um pouco sobre esta semana, foi a primeira semana de estágio. A pedido do Vilaça deixo depois 1 filme com imagens para não ser tão secante, elas irão falar por si.

Foi uma semana cheia de coisas novas e de algumas surpresas. Esta semana estivemos no centro de saúde distrital de Joensuu – Siilainen. Este centro de saúde divide-se na parte do hospital (internamento), que recebe os casos clínicos do hospital central de Joensuu (onde iremos fazer o 2º estágio), e na policlínica que recebe utentes no regime de ambulatório, tendo também alguns sectores “espalhados” pelo resto da cidade e arredores.

Logo no primeiro dia, para surpresa minha, o terapeuta pediu-nos para “fazer qualquer coisa” a um utente com um processo de artrose no joelho, então toda feliz lá fiz uma mobilização – movimentos acessórios (não esquecendo as recomendações da terapeuta Isabel Rasgado) usando as técnicas de Maitland. =)

Apesar de não nos deixarem até agora “por a mão na massa”, e de no primeiro dia ter ficado um bocadinho triste por causa disto, tenho aprendido imenso observando a intervenção dos fisioterapeutas. Principalmente por ser uma abordagem bem diferente da que estamos habituados em Portugal…

No primeiro dia (2ª feira) estivemos na unidade de neurologia, vimos vários casos, quase tudo AVC’s… e aconteceu uma coisa muito interessante, uma das utentes teve alta, e umas horas depois fomos com o terapeuta a casa da senhora para avaliar as condições em que ela vive, e a eventual necessidade de ajudas técnicas.

Na 3ª feira estivemos na unidade de músculo-esquelética, maioritariamente casos de ortopedia. Depois assistimos a uma classe de fortalecimento e treino de equilíbrio para idosos, mas bem diferente daquelas que estamos habituadas a ver no contexto da fisioterapia em Portugal. Neste tipo de classes, cada utente tem os seus exercícios, tem uma folha de registo que permite controlar a evolução, e gere o tempo da classe fazendo os exercícios solicitados pelo terapeuta (logo estabelecidos na primeira sessão) tendo a responsabilidade de fazer alguma actividade em casa no intervalo das sessões, no final houve 1 tempo para relaxamento e a terapeuta tirou-nos uma foto (para vocês ficarem com a ideia que de que eu e a Rita “viemos para cá tirar umas férias” =) .

Gosto muito do sistema como eles tratam os idosos… quase todos os idosos vão para “sénior fitness club” para treinar a força dos seus grupos musculares, de forma a diminuir/ prevenir a fraqueza e aumentar o equilíbrio. Pois o facto de idosos viverem muitos anos, estarem em casa sem fazer nenhum (e os acamados) custam muito, mas mesmo muito dinheiro ao estado, por isso há que exercitar as pessoas para torna-las o mais activas possível. Nos clubes de sénior fitness (a grade aposta da Finlândia desde os anos 80) os velhotes fazem os seus exercícios em máquinas de ginásio.

Estou a aprender o finlandês a uma velocidade que nem queiram saber, acho que se ficasse cá um ano saia daqui a falar isto mesmo bem =) a cada doente que me dirijo digo “hyvä nuomenta, minum nimeni on Lídia, minä olet Portugalista, hauska tutustua” (bom dia, o meu nome é Lídia, venho de Portugal e é um prazer conhece-lo). Já sei perguntar “mitä tuntuu?” (como se sente?) “kipu joi/ ei?” (dói sim/ não?) “tauko” (pausa) … sim, sei que faço umas figurinhas tristes principalmente com a minha pronúncia PORTUGALISTA acho eu, mas dá para me rir um bocadinho e os utentes também se riem =)

4ª feira estivemos na unidade de doentes agudos e depois assistimos a uma classe de hidroterapia, também muito interessante, a terapeuta demonstrava os exercícios mas fora de água.

5ª feira estivemos de manhã num pequeno sector do centro de saúde – Suvikato, que funciona como um “sénior fitness club”, e à tarde num lar de idosos (sector privado) mas cheio de categoria, tem um ginásio de fisioterapia e puseram-nos a dirigir 3 classes para idosos… primeiro a terapeuta fez o aquecimento, depois nós começamos a fazer os exercícios com os velhotes…

Foi muito giro… que figuras… lá começamos a exercitar novamente o finlandês porque eles não sabem inglês =( então havia exercícios que era suposto fazer-se 2 séries de 30 repetições… e cá vai: (yksi, kaksi, kolmi, nelli, viisi, kuusi, seitsemän, kahdeksan, yhdeksan, kymmenen) ou seja 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10… na primeira classe repetíamos esta “reza” 3 vezes depois dizíamos “tauko” ou “lepo” – pausa/ descanso =) então uma utente teve a gentileza de nos ensinar a contar até 30… ai ai rimo-nos todos um bocadinho… depois também tínhamos exercícios de levantar e sentar da cadeira (“alas” ou “istua” – sentar e “ylos” ou “seistä” – levantar), e ainda esquerda “vasen” e direita “oikea”. No final estávamos exaustas… nem imaginam o esforço mental para conseguir dirigir 3 classes seguidas “em finlandês desta qualidade” mas chegamos ao fim a saber contar até 30 =) o esforço não foi em vão.

Depois do que observamos esta semana, ficamos com ideias novas para o nosso projecto de comunidade que vamos implementar com os “nossos velhotes” a partir de Março/ Abril.

In this post I will talk a little bit about this week, it was our first week of clinical practice. As Vilaça asked me, I will leave a video with some photos to try not to make it too boring.

It was a week with lots of new things and some surprises. This week we were in Joensuu’s distrital health care center – Siilainen. This health care center is divided in two parts: the hospital (internment) that receives the clinical cases from Joensuu’s Center Hospital (where we will do our 2nd clinical practice), and the policlinics that receives patients in ambulatory system. This health care center has also some departments around Joensuu’s city.

In the first day, the physiotherapist asked us to make “something” to a patient that has an arthrosis process in his knee, that was a surprise for me, and then I was very happy and made Maithland ‘s mobilization techniques – (never forgetting the recommendations from our teacher and physiotherapist Isabel Rasgado) =)

In spite of until now, they don’t aloud us to put “our hand in the mass”, and because of that I was a little bit sad at the first day, I have been learning a lot observing the intervention of the physiotherapists. Mainly because it is a very different approach that we are used in Portugal…

On the first day (Monday) we were at the neurological ward, we saw some clinical cases, most of them had suffered strokes... There was a very interesting thing, one of the patients went home and then some ours after we went with the physiotherapist to her home to evaluate the condictions in where she lives and the necessity of having technical aids.

On Tuesday we were at the musculoskeletal ward, mainly orthopaedic clinical cases. After that we saw a group intervention with elderly people to increase their strength and balance, but this group intervention was very different compared to the ones that we are used to see in the context of physiotherapy in Portugal. In this kind of group intervention, each patient has their own exercises, their own registration paper where they can control their progression, and they manage the time of the intervention doing exercises (that have been established by the therapist in the first session) and has the responsibility to make some physical activity at home between the sessions. At the end we had a time for relaxing, and the therapist tooked us a picture, so that you can have the idea that me and Rita “we came here to have some holidays” =) .
I realy like the system how they treat the elderly people… most of them they used to go to “senior fitness club” to increase the strength of their muscular groups so they can decrease/ prevent lack of force and increase their balance. The fact that the elderly people live many years, if they are at home doing anything (and also those who are lying in their beds) they cost lots and lots of money to the government. So it’s a need to exercise people so they can be most active as possible. In the senior fitness clubs (the big “bet” of Finland since the 80’s years) the elderly people make their exercise in gym machines.

Im learning finnish language in a great velocity, I think if I manage to stay here one year I should go back home speaking this language very well =) I say this to each patient: “hyvä nuomenta, minum nimeni on Lídia, minä olet Portugalista, hauska tutustua” (good morning, my name is Lídia, I came from Portugal and it’s a pleasure to meet you). I already learn how to ask “mitä tuntuu?” (how do you feel?) “kipu joi/ ei?” (does it hurts yes/ no?) “tauko” (pause) … yes i know that I make some sad figures, mainly with my PORTUGALISTA’s pronunciation, I think, but we can all laugh, me and the patients =)

On Wednesday, we went to the acute patients’ war and then we assist to a hydrotherapy class also very interesting, the physiotherapist demonstrate the exercises, but out of water.

On Thursday, we went at the morning to a little sector of the health care centre – Suvikato, that works as a “senior fitness club”, and at the afternoon we went to a elderly home (private sector) with lots of conditions for the old people. This elderly home has a physiotherapy gym and they putted us supervising 3 elderly group interventions… first the therapist make the worming up exercises, them we started making the exercises with them.

It was so fanny… our figures… we started to exercise again our poor finnish because they didnt understand english =( so there wewe exercises that was supose to make 2 series of 30 repetitions… and here it goes: (yksi, kaksi, kolmi, nelli, viisi, kuusi, seitsemän, kahdeksan, yhdeksan, kymmenen) that means 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10… in the first group intervention we used to repeat this “pray” 3 times, then we sayed “tauko” or “lepo” – pause/ rest =) but one patient had the kidness to teach us how to count until 30… we all laugh a lot… then there were exercises that we need to stand up from the chair and to sit down (“alas” or “istua” – sit down and “ylos” or “seistä” – stand up), and also left “vasen” and right “istua”. At the end we were exausted… you cant imagine the mental effort that we made to spervise this 3 group interventions “in finnish whith this quality” but at the end we learned how to count until 30 =) so the effort was not in vain.
After the things that we observed this week, we have new ideas for our community project that we are going to implant with “our elderly people” in March/ April.

Olá pessoal =)

Não foi possível escrever antes pois só 6ª é que vieram instalar a Internet à minha casa =( (apesar de eu já a ter pago em Outubro).

Espero que estejam bem =) Aqui vai um balanço desta primeira semana cheia de “magia” e aventura pela cidade de Joensuu.

De 2ª a 4ª feira tivemos o nosso programa de orientação. Foi muito bom importante pois transmitiam-nos algumas informações sobre a escola, a cultura, a história da Finlândia. Mas melhor que tudo, foi muito bom conhecer os outros estudantes internacionais que vieram para cá fazer os seus programas de intercâmbio.

1) Conheci os coordenadores deste período de ERASMUS, os alunos do 3º ano (uma turma com 15 alunos) e na 6ª feira tive a oportunidade de assistir a uma aula de Hidroterapia.

A aula de hidroterapia foi muito interessante, foi leccionada uma abordagem adaptada das técnicas de Halliwick, mais lúdica e mais divertida – “adaptative swiming”, consiste numa intervenção sempre à base de jogos, brincadeiras, o que a torna atraente e agradável. No entanto estas técnicas requerem um terapeuta ou um ajudante por doente. Fiquei muito entusiasmada com esta aula, o mais estimulante da aula foi a presença de um doente que tem paralisia cerebral, com um quadro de tetraparésia.

Os alunos tiveram a oportunidade de tratar da parte de despir/ vestir e lavar antes e depois da aula na piscina. Passamos um bom bocado dentro de água, e pude aprender imenso enquanto a terapeuta Anelli interviu com o utente (apesar da temperatura da água ser 28ºC, uma vez que no ano passado estávamos habituadas à temperatura da nossa piscina em Alcoitão ser entre 33 e 35ºC, para acrescentar que ao olharmos ao nosso redor conseguíamos ver que por fora estava a nevar, o que psicologicamente ainda parecia estar mais frio).

Também pude constatar que na escola têm montes de material, pelo menos para as aulas na piscina…bolas de todas as cores e tamanhos, e todo o material para que a natação adaptada seja um sucesso =)

Os alunos foram muito simpáticos e acolhedores. Conheci a Sara (Tutora do Hugo e do Jonhy – em 2006) o Antti (tutor da Mariana e da Catarina – em 2007), e também a Suvi e a Heini, que vão de ERASMUS para Alcoitão em Fevereiro. Tirei umas fotos com o pessoal, vou por para verem. A Sara e o Antti mandam os seus calorosos cumprimentos para os colegas a quem eles ajudaram.

2ª feira começa o trabalho a sério =) vamos ter estagio no centro de saúde distrital de Joensuu.

2) Além da fisioaventura…

Apesar de quase todos me terem dito que eu vinha para cá “congelar”, esta semana até esteve como os finlandeses costumam dizer “bastante quente” – com temperaturas até -7ºC. De facto o primeiro dia foi o mais complicado para mim, mas acho que à medida que os dias vão passando estou a começar a habituar-me ao frio.

Comecei as aulas de finlandês… esta língua é difícil, tem palavras algo parecidas com português/ inglês/ espanhol/ francês (pois consegui tirar o sentido das mesmas através do referencial das línguas que sei e das que entendo) mas expressões que passo a expressão, “nem lembram o diabo”…

Já sei dizer:

Minun nimeni on Lídia (mêê nome é Lídia… – essa parte é fácil, conseguiram perceber, pois é igual ao alentejanês =) )

Mas, e esta hã?: hyvää houmenta! (bom dia)

3) Conbíbiossss =) =) =)

Apesar de só nos termos conhecido esta semana, o nosso grupinho é bem unido e já disfrutamos de alguns convívios. 4ª feira “the internacional office” organizaram um convívio para os “exange students” de todos os pólos das 2 universidades em que nos ofereceram uns bolos tradicionais, chá e café…6ª feira fomos alguns para casa do David (um estudante polaco – do curso “international business”) cada um levou uma coisinha e tivemos lá um bocadinho antes de sairmos todos para 1 convívio juntamente com os outros estudantes e os nossos tutores... Sábado a Ann, a Emília e o Simon - os estudantes polacos do meu prédio todos do curso “international business” organizaram uma “sessão de cinema” – vimos um filme através da mega tela do monitor do computador portátil… mas divertimo-nos bastante.

Bem já está um texto muito grandeee, mas como só tive net ontem, não tive outra hipótese…

Nos próximos posts vou por mais informação sobre a fisioterapia claro, mas também sobre a Finlândia, a cultura, o país, a língua, o povo, os amigos que por aqui tenho feito e também sobre o pessoal do nosso grupinho =) tenho para variar… montes de fotos =)

It wasn’t possible to write earlier because someone just came on Friday to my home to install the Internet conection =( (in spite of I had already payed it in October).

I hope you are all ok =) so here goes a balance about this first week with lots of “magic” and adventure by Joensuu’s city.

From Monday to Wednesday we had our orientation programme. It was very important because they transmit us some information about the school, the finish culture, the history. But the best thing was to meet other international students that also came to Finland to make their exchange programme.

1) I met the coordinators of this ERASMUS period, the students of the 3rd year (a class with 15 students), and on Friday I had the opportunity to assist to a Hidrotherapy lesson.

The hidrotherapy lesson was very interesting, it was teaching an adaptative boarding of Halliwick techniques, more ludic and more amusing - “adaptative swiming”, that is a kind of intervention always based on games, play time, that makes it attract and pleasant. But these techniques require 1 therapist or 1 helper to each patient. I become very enthusiastic with this lesson, the most extimulation thing was heaving the presence of 1 patient that has cerebral palsy, with a tetraparesia.

The students had the oportunity to take care of the dessing/ undressing and washing before and after the lesson on the swimmingpool. We passed a great time in watter, and I could learn a lot as long as the therapist Anelli intervened with the patient (although the temperature of the watter was 28ºC, and last year the temperature of our swimmingpool’s watter at Alcoitão was about 33 – 35ºC, and as we looked outside the window, we could see that was snowing, so psychologically it looked that it ware more cold).

I could also realised that the school has lots of material, at least for the hydrotherapy lessons… every colour and size of balls, and all the stuf to make it sure that the adaptative swimming is a success =)

The students were very sympathetic and welcoming. I met Sara (student tutor of Hugo and Jonhy – at 2006), Antti (student tutor of Mariana and Catarina – at 2007), and also Suvi and Heini, that are going on February to Alcoitão (my University) to make their ERASMUS exchange programme. I have tooked some photos with them, and I will put them so you can have a look. Sara and Antti send their worm greetings to the Portuguese colleagues that they had helped before.

On Monday the real work will start =) we are going to make some clinical practice on Joensuu’s destrital helth care center.

2) Beside the fisioadventure…
In spite of most people have been telling me that I was coming here to get “frozen”, this week was a very “worm week”, like the finnish people use to say… with temperatures until -7ºC. In factthe 1st day was the more difficult day for me, but I think that as the days are passing I’m getting used to this weather.

I started the finnish lessons…this language is terrebly difficult, there are some words that are quite similar to portuguese/ english/ spanish/ french (because I was able to understand some words based on the referential languages that I know or I understand), but there are quite difficult expressions.

I already know hou to say:

Minun nimeni on Lídia (My name is Lídia, this is easy =) )

But, what about this?: hyvää houmenta! (good morning)

I will leave some words that after learning them they are quite useful::

3) Convivialities =) =) =)

In spite of we just met this week, our group is very unit and we have already disfructed of some convivialities. On Wednesday the internacional office organized 1 conviviality for the exange students of all the campus from both universities, they offered us some traditional cakes, tee and cofee…on Friday some of us went to David’s house (a international student from Poland – from the “international business” course) each one just tooked something and we stayed there for a wile before going to a huge conviviality with all the students and student tutors… on Saturday Ann, Emília and Simon – the polish students fom my building, all from “international business” course organized 1 “movie session” – we saw a movie from the mega screen from the portable computers ecran…but we had lots of fun.

Well this text is a little bit hugeeee, but as I sayed before, I just had internet connection from Friday evening.

On the next posts I will put more information about fisiotherapy obviously, but also about Finland, the coulture, the language, the finnish people, the friends that I have been metting and also about our group =) I have lots and lots of photos =)

A aventura já começou =) / The adventure has already started =)

Curiosos por saber das minhas aventuras?

Cá vai um “BREVE” relatório do que tem acontecido estes dias…desculpem a “brevidade” do texto, mas é consequência de estar sem net durante alguns dias…

Após os exames de “Fisioterapia Teoria e Prática” e de “Temas Aprofundados” (no dia 3 de Janeiro) que me tiraram o juízo durante as supostas “férias de Natal”… fui fazer as malinhas para me vir embora…depois de me ter deitado “às tantas”, dia 4 de Janeiro as aventuras começaram cedinho, acordei às 5 da manhã para estar no aeroporto de Lisboa às 6:50, pois tinha avião às 8:50…

Foram 3366 quilómetros (2029 milhas), sobrevoei Portugal, Espanha, França. Bélgica, Holanda, Dinamarca, Suécia, até finalmente chegar à Finlândia – 5 horas e pouco de viagem, pois atrasou mais de 1 hora =(.

Foi uma viagem cansativa, mas passou-se bem, vim a falar com uns rapazes que são colegas de 2 amigos meus, e que vieram para Helsínquia para uma aventura semelhante à minha…e claro, falei-lhes do meu blogue =)

Uma vez que aqui são mais 2 horas que em Portugal, cheguei cá às 16:30… e como fui das primeiras a fazer o check-in, as minhas malas foram das últimas a vir =(, para tornar a situação ainda mais animadora, aquilo bloqueou 3 vezes…

Finalmente às 17:30 já tinha comigo as minhas malinhas, estava sã e salva com os meus “bens”… em Helsínquia…

Faltava conhecer a Niina, que juntamente com a sua irmã Anne me abrigaram durante a primeira noite em sua casa para que eu não precisasse de dormir no aeroporto, felizmente correu tudo bem, conhecemo-nos logo =)

Quando deixei a “minha” Lisboa, estavam 15ºC, assim que pus os pés fora do aeroporto de Helsínquia, sentia-se bem a diferença(zinha), estavam -5ºC… eu já sabia que o frio me iria fazer uma recepção, mas nunca imaginei que fosse tão…intensa (não consegui arranjar outra palavra)…que saudades imediatas de Portugal…

A Niina é jornalista e mora num sìteo à beira mar, então, depois de comermos qualquer coisinha, e de lhe mostrar o meu blogue, ela convidou-me a dar uma voltinha para conhecer o síteo… curiosa como sou, É CLARO que aceitei… =)

As calças que trazia vestidas, usei-as durante o Verão e parte do Inverno que passei em Portugal, não trazia meias compridas por dentro, estava com 2 camisolas, um casaco de Inverno, um cachecol um gorro e umas luvinhas que recebi no Natal… achei que estivesse bem equipada para o frio, afinal, para suportar o frio em Portugal, é suficiente…

Assim que a caminhada começou, a Niina perguntou se eu queria voltar para traz, “não É CLARO QUE NÃO”… respondi. Foi muito giro, o síteo é lindo, não estava a nevar, mas havia neve nos telhados das casas e no chão, no entanto estava um “vento de rachar”, literalmente de matar…

Senti como que se o sangue que me corre nas veias e nas artérias estivesse em processo de solidificação… nessa altura comecei a aperceber-me de algumas reacções químicas que estavam a acontecer comigo…neste laboratório de experiências bio-físico-químicas…O sangue pedia o especial favor de eu não o deixar congelar, a pele secou, as pernas pediam socorro para não caírem, pois como a temperatura estava próxima dos 0ºC, o chão estava altamente escorregadio. Os pulmões distendiam com toda a sua capacidade de complacência, a pressão sub-atmosférica era tal nas zonas pulmonares dependentes, que deu para perceber melhor os princípios da ventilação mecânica a pressão negativa que tinha estado a estudar para a parte de respiratória do exame de “Fisioterapia Teoria e Prática”…

Depois dessa experiência “físico-química” finalmente chegamos a casa =)

No dia seguinte apanhei o avião para Joensuu, cidade onde estou a viver e onde irei fazer os estágios no âmbito da fisioterapia. Foi uma viagem curta, de aproximadamente 400 quilómetros, e não chegou bem a uma hora.

Quando cheguei estava a nevar, que lindo =) e estavam -15ºC… (uma mera diferença de 30ºC comparado com o clima que estou habituada em Portugal). Apesar de estarem -15ºC, como não é uma cidade tão ventosa como a cidade de Helsínquia, suporta-se um pouco melhor a diferença de temperatura. Isto é lindo, há neve por todo o chão, em cima das árvores e dos telhados, vou por umas fotos nos próximos posts para terem uma ideia… =).

A parte das malas correu lindamente, quem me veio receber foi a Tiina, que foi super impecável. Veio trazer-me à minha casa, emprestou-me as coisas que preciso para sobreviver tais como: talheres, loiça, roupa de cama, e até tive direito a cortinas no meu quarto, depois levou-me às compras =).

A minha casa é mesmo internacional =) estou a viver num bloco de apartamentos onde vivem outros estudantes ERASMUS ou Finlandeses que saíram das suas terras para vir estudar para aqui. Tenho 2 colegas de casa, a Reeta que é Finlandesa, muito simpática e prestável =) estuda História, e a Miriam, que é Alemã, mas que ainda não tive o prazer de conhecer, pois está ainda de férias no seu país.

No Domingo fui com a Tiina buscar a Rita e o Roger à estação de comboios e depois fomos dar uma voltinha (de carro) pela cidade.

Hoje fomos para o programa de orientação, hão de ser 3 dias =) Foi muito bom conhecer o pessoal internacional, e as coordenadoras que trataram de tudo para nos proporcionar uma chegada a Joensuu, o mais organizada possível. Era suposto estarmos 17 estudantes internacionais, mas estávamos uns 12/13… É quase tudo estudantes de artes, design ou de economia, de 23 anos para cima… e de vários países: França, Holanda, Alemanha, Polónia… As coordenadoras ofereceram-nos um almocinho onde
aproveitei para divulgar o blogue =) e depois deram-nos folga. Fomos então tratar de uns assuntos relativos à casa.

Conheci a minha tutora, a Kirsi, e alguns tutores de outros colegas internacionais.

Amanhã há mais =) prometo que vou por um post muito mais pequeno =) hoje foi exaustivo, mas a pedido de alguns (como o Juan e o Vilaça) vou por TODAS as minhas aventuras. Obrigada por terem lido tudo até ao fim =)

Are you curiouse to know about my adventures?

So here is a “BRIEF” report about what has being happened this days…sory for the “brevity” of the text, but it’s consequence of not having internet connection from some days…

After the exams of “Physiotherapy Theory and Practice” and “Profound Themes” (on the 3rd of January) that drived me crazy during the suppose “Christmas holidays”…I’ve packed my luggage to come… after getting bed very late, at 4th January the adventures started very early, I woke up at 5 am to be at Lisbon’s airport at 6.50 am, because I had to catch the airplane at 8:50…

It was 3366 kilometres (2029 miles), I’ve overfligth Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, the Nederland’s, Denmark, Sweden to finally arrive at Finland – the trip tooked about 5 hours, because it lasted more than one hour =(.

It was a tiring trip, but I passed it well, I’ve been talking with some boys that are colleges of 2 friends of mine, that came to Helsinki for a similar adventure like mine…and obviously, I told them about my blog =).

Because here are 2 hours than in Portugal, I arrived at 16:30…and as I was one of the first person that have done the check-in, my luggage was one of the last to came =(, to make the situation more animator , that thing has blocked 3 times…

Finally at 17:30 I had my luggage with me, and I was sane and safe with my “wells”… in Helsinki…

It was just missing to met Niina, that together with her sister Anne, had shelted me during the first night in their home, so I didn’t need to sleep at the airport, hopefully everything got allrigth, we meet just at the moment I came to the departure place =).

When I left “my” Lisbon, there was 15ºC, as I put my fet out of Helsinki’s airport, it could feel very well the (little tiny) difference, there was -5ºC… I had already known that the cold would make me a reception, but I never imagine that it could be so…intence (I couldn’t found other word)…I immediately miss Portugal…

Niina is a journalist and she lives in a see-side place. After eating something and after I show her my blog, she invited me to join her in a walk and know the place…couriose as I am, OBVIOUSLY I accepted such invitation…=)

The trousers that I had dressed, I used them during last Summer and part of the Winter that I passed in Portugal, I hadn’t long socks under the trousers, I was wearing 2 plovers, a winter coat, a scarf, a round cap and a pair of gloves that I receive at Christmas… I thought that I was well equipped to resist the cold, actually, it is sufficient to resist Portugal’s cold…

As our walk started, ninna asked me if i want to go back home, “no, OBVIOUSLY NOT”…I answer. It was very nice, the place is beautiful, it wasn’t snowing, but there was some snow on the houses roofs and on the flor, but there was a “wind able to slip”, literally to kill…

I felt like that the blood that runes into my veins and arteries vas on solidification process…at that time a started to realise some of the chemical reactions that was happening with me…in this bio-physical-chemistry experiences laboratory…my blood asked me the special favour so that I don’t let him freeze, my skin just dried, my legs asked for aid to don’t fall, because as the temperature was near 0ºC, the flour was so much slippery. My lungs distend themselves with all of their compliance capacity, the sub-athemosferic pressure was so less in the dependent lung regions, that that feeling was helpful to understand a bit more about the principles of negative pressure mechanical ventilation that I have been studing for the respiratory part of “Physiotherapy Theory and Practice’s” exam…

Finally, after that “physical-chemistry” experience, we arrive at home =)

In the next day, I catch the plain to Joensuu, the city where I’m living and where I will make the physiotherapy stages. It was a quit short trip, from about 400 kilometres, and it took less than one hour.

When I arrived, it was snowing, so nice and pretty =) and there were -15ºC… (a little and tiny difference from about 30ºC compared with the climate that I’m used to in Portugal). In spite of being -15ºC, as this city is not so windy compared to Helsinki’s city, it’s a bit easy to support this temperature’s difference. This is lovely, there are snow everywhere, on the floor, on the trees and the roofs, I will show you some photos in the following posts, so you can have an ideia… =).

The part of the luggage was ok, without any trouble, Tinna has receive me, and she was super impeccable. She drive me to my flat, and she borrow me the things that I need to survive as: covers, dishes, bed clothes and she also has borrow me a pair of curtains to my bed room. After all we went shopping =).

My house is all just international =) I’m living in a block of apartments where are also other ERASMUS or Finnish students that come from other parts of the country to came to study at Joensuu. I have 2 flatmates, Reeta that is Finnish, she’s a very sympathetic and kind person =) she studies History, and Miriam, she is German, but I didn’t have the pleasure to meet, because she’s still on her holidays at germany.

At Sunday I went with Tiina to the Railway station to pick up Rita and Roger, then we went to a turn around Joensuu’s city by car.

Today we went to the orientation’s programme, it will be 3 days =) it was very nice to meet the international students and also the coordinators that manage everything for us to make our arrival to Joensuu, as most organised as possible. It was supposed to be about 17 students, but in fact we were about 12/13…Most of them are from fine arts, design and business economy students, up to 23 years old…from many countries: France, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland… the coordinators offerd us a lunch where I profit to divulge the blog =) after all they gave us the rest of the day to rest and manage to organised ourselves. Then we went to treat some things related to our flats.

I met my tutor, Kirsi, and some other exange students’ tutors.

Tomorrow there will be more =) I promise that I’ll put a littlest post =) today was exhaustive, but as some of you ask me (like Juan and Vilaça) I will put ALL of my adventures. Thanks for reading until the end =)

Olá =)

Bem-vindo(a) à réplica do meu “Laboratório de Experiências”. Sempre sonhei em ter um laboratório =). Em criança até cheguei a pensar ser “cientista”, mas na realidade, acabei por enveredar por outro caminho.

Sou estudante do curso bietápico de licenciatura em Fisioterapia, na Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão, e estou no 3º ano do curso.

É com muito prazer que coloco este blogue à disposição de todos, que tem como objectivo, partilhar algumas das experiências inerentes aos vários vectores que intersectam um ser tão complexo chamado “Lídia”, dando origem a vários tipos de experiências =).

Sempre fui uma apaixonada pela cultura, pelo conhecimento, pela ciência e pela inovação. Sou uma pessoa sonhadora, aventureira e curiosa. São estas três características que constituem o “motor”, dão alguma cor, e mantêm em funcionamento permanente as experiências que acontecem no meu “laboratório”.

Já dizia Louvoisier que “na natureza nada se cria, nada se perde, tudo se transforma”.
Nesta pequena réplica, gostaria de partilhar convosco algumas das “fórmulas” que estão na base das minhas “experiências”.

As experiências que aqui vou partilhar dizem respeito ao sistema de vectores “FISIOTERAPIA” que inclui várias áreas de intervenção, todas com um objectivo em comum: conquistar/ maximizar a “Qualidade de Vida”.

Não poderia acabar o curso sem realizar um dos meus sonhos mais ambiciosos, que consiste em participar no programa de mobilidade SÓCRATES- ERASMUS.

Vou partir para esta “aventura ERÁSMICA”, e desta vez vou para Joensuu - uma cidade finlandesa na capital da região da Carélia do Norte, província da Finlândia Oriental.

Welcome to the retort of my “Experiences laboratory”. I have always been dreaming in having a laboratory =). As a child, I toughed about being a “scientist”, but in fact I have been following another way.

I’m a physiotherapist student (Alcoitão’s Superior School of Helth), and I’m in the third year of the course.

It’s with lots of pleasure that I put this blog under the disposition of everyone, witch the purpose is to share some of the experiences that are inherent to a so complex human being named “Lídia”, and has as a result many kinds of experiences =).

I always have been interested by culture, knowledge, science and innovation. I define myself as a dream, adventurous and curios person. These three characteristics are the “motor”, they give some colour and put in permanently operation the experiences that happen in my “laboratory”.

Louvoisier said that: “In the nature, nothing appears by itself, nothing is lost, but everything is transformed”. In this small retort, I would like to share with you some of the “formulas” that are in the base of these “experiences”.

The experiences that I will share are about the “PHYSIOTHERAPY’s” vector system, that includes plenty of areas, each one with the same finality: to reach/ maximize the “Quality of Life”.

I couldn’t finish my course without realizing one of my most ambitious dreams, that is participating in the SÓCRATES- ERASMUS mobility programme.

I will start this “ERASMIC adventure”, at this time in Joensuu – a finnish city in North Karelia capital region, a province of Oriental Finland.
